Adjustments & Enhancements

Teachers may make offerings of hands-on enhancements when appropriate. Enhancements (or adjustments) are for the benefit of the student and are meant to help guide you into Asanas (physical postures) in a safe and mindful way so that your body may find comfort and your mind may still. Please receive these as the offerings they are intended to be, not as a strict correction or reason for self-doubt.

In yoga we use Asana to get into our bodies and alignment aids us along this path. To clarify this, anatomical language is used and the teachers may lightly touch parts of your physical body such as your feet, ribs, hips etc. Adjustments are given with the pure intention of teaching and assisting.

If you prefer to not be adjusted on any given day, please let your instructor know before class begins. Also, if you are experiencing injury, trauma or discomfort anywhere, let us know so we may provide you with amended postures for your practice. A mindful practice is a sustaining practice and we want you to be a long-term member of our Sangha (yogi community).
